Hello! Thanks for stopping by to read about my own homemade chai tea recipe! This recipe will make 8-10 cups of tea, so if you only want to make half that many, I rewrote the recipe down below for easy access. Well let’s get started!
Ingredients for full batch:
- 1 tsp of cardamom
- 1 tsp of cinnamon
- 1 tsp of ginger
- 1 tsp of ground cloves
- 1 tea bag (of normal black tea)
- Amount of the sweetener of your choice (I use a tiny sprinkle of stevia)
- 1 splash of heavy whipping cream (One splash per cup of tea)

Ingredients for half batch:
- 1/2 tsp of cardamom
- 1/2 tsp of cinnamon
- 1/2 tsp of ginger
- 1/2 tsp of ground cloves
- 1/2 of one tea bag (You can make tea with the remaining half, or throw it away)
- Amount of sweetener of your choice
- 1 splash of heavy whipping cream
Instructions for making the tea mixture:
- Get a small air-tight container to keep your tea in. Mix all of the spices, as well as the contents from inside the tea bag.

Instructions for making the tea:
- Measure 1/2 tsp of tea/spice mixture and put it into an empty mug
- Pour hot water into the mug
- Let tea mixture steep for 2-4 minutes
- If preferred strain out tea/spice mixture with cheese cloth or a coffee filter, otherwise you can drink it with the spices still inside.
- Add in sweetener and heavy whipping cream
If you’re looking for a variation, try adding some ice, for an iced chai!

I hope your homemade tea turns out, and stay tuned for future recipes!
Thanks for reading!
